How do I get there?
Alexandra is in Central Otago in the South Island of New Zealand. If flying in, the closest airport is Queenstown International Airport, which is just over an hour’s drive from Alexandra. The event address is 166 Coates Road, Alexandra, which is only about 5 minutes’ drive from both Alexandra and Clyde town centres.
What time does it start?
The Carousel kicks off at 9am on Saturday 19th April.
How much vert does the course have?
There is around 50m of elevation on the course, depending on which type of watch you have.
Where can I stay before and after the event?
There are loads of great accommodation options in Alexandra and Clyde, both of which are only about 5 minutes’ drive from the course. Another option is Cromwell, which is about 25-30 minutes away.
Where can I stock up on supplies before or during the event?
There is both a New World and a Woolworths in Alexandra, along with a range of other shops.
What time can I arrive to set up my gazebo or tent?
Set-up is between 3pm and 8pm on Friday 18th April. If you need to arrive earlier, please email [email protected] to arrange.
How much of my entry fee will be donated to charity?
$5 from every entry will be donated to each charity. The more entries there are, the bigger the donations!
Is there power at the course?
Unfortunately there is no power at the course, so bring your own gas cookers, battery-powered lights and battery packs.
Is there water available at the course?
Unfortunately there is no drinking water available at the course, so you will need to supply all your own water.
Will there be good vibes?
We’ll have music and commentary around the clock (with reduced volume at night to respect nearby airport residents).
Where can I hire equipment from?
The best place is His and Hers Endurance Kitz. They take care of set-up before the event, pack-down after the event, and are surprisingly affordable for such a premium service!
Where can I get coaching from?
If you are looking for a running coach who has been there, done that in the BYU scene, you should consider Rep Endurance, Aerobic Edge or Sam Harvey Coaching.
